For the International Noise Conference Tour 2014, Marrit Vaessin and I collaborated Winch/Roop/Guitar. I stood on the stage and played the guitar. A rope attached to my guitar ran to the end of the space where Marritt began drawing the rope in using a hand winch which was mounted to the amplifier. I'm pulled off stage toward the entrance in spurts and tugs. Soon I resist, but I can't overcome the force and I fall to the floor for resistance. The rope begins to bind and the audience members help pull me toward the exit. Guitar, nylon rope, winch, 80lbs of weight, effect processors, and guitar amp.
Performed at The Shelf circa 2009 near the end of my return to Ohio State. Grids where playing heavy in my work and here it is translated to a perfomrnace. The paper was mounted high on a wall that was mic'ed and processed. I stood on a stool and as I could barely reach the paper I drew 2 gridded cubes.
Spiraling In was performed at the Shelf in 2012. This performance is a sort of sketch made alongside the development of the Dog House and predicts "Cars, 2017-2023". Crayon, contact mics processed through guitar amplifier on 48" x 48" paper.
